Darshan Education Foundation felicitated all the State and CBSE National Award-winning educators of Darshan Academy, Delhi in a special event on 21 September 2021. The felicitation ceremony, “Cheers for Peers!” was organized on the outdoor school premises to honour the staff for their excellence in teaching and school leadership over the years. Shri A K Sachdeva, President of Darshan Education Foundation graced the occasion as the chief guest, along with guests of honour, DEF manager and education officers, and national coordinator, LMC, PTA, DEF, IT members and parents. The six Darshan Academy, Delhi recipients were felicitated by the chief guest and guests of honour for their outstanding achievement. The awardees are:
Mr A David (Principal) – State Award 2016, Ms Bhavna Arora (PGT-English) – State Award 2017, Ms Reenu Bindra (PGT- Phy Edu) – State Award 2018, Ms Mamta Sabharwal (TGT-Social Science) – State Award 2020, Ms Monika Sachdeva (PGT-Biology) – State Award 2021 and CBSE Teacher’s Award 2021, and Ms Mamta Amarpuri (Librarian) – CBSE Teacher’s Award 2021.
The program started with a welcome note by Mr A David followed by the annual report by Ms Mamta Sabharwal. “Despite the many challenges posed by this pandemic, our teachers rose to the occasion and guided the students through a tough period, instilling confidence in them and helping them to achieve the results they all wanted,” she added. Each awardee presented a speech of gratitude while the formal vote of thanks was given by Ms Monika Sachdeva at the end.
In his address, the school education officer, Dr.S.S.Khokhar, a National awardee himself, was in great praise of teachers and said that the teachers are role models. The chief guest, Shri A K Sachdeva, explained that the program was organized to felicitate the efforts, dedication and hard work put in by the diligent teachers of Darshan Academy, Delhi. He emphasized the vision of holistic education of DEF founder chairman, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj and the goal of the New Education Policy 2020. In his address, he expressed hope that teachers in other Darshan Academies will be inspired by the awardees. He also announced the onset of the National and Regional Awards at DEF level from the year 2021 to mark the occasions of the centennial birth celebration of Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj and the diamond jubilee celebration of DEF, founder chairman, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj.
