Seminar and Cultural Program “Peaceful Hearts, Peaceful Planet”

New Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium was filled to capacity on September 25, 2023 as over two thousand guests attended Darshan Academy’s program “Peaceful Hearts, Peaceful Planet.” The foyer was decorated with a garden scene of large flowers and posters highlighting the school’s holistic activities and achievements. The program began with a seminar presided over by Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, Founder Chairman of Darshan Education Foundation. In his keynote address, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj emphasized our connectedness and oneness with all creation and the need to experience inner peace to bring about outer peace. To make for a peaceful planet, we need to find peace at the individual level. The guest speakers then shared their views on education and peace. Esteemed figures including Satya Pal Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Health and Family Affairs, praised the Foundation’s commitment to value-based learning alongside academic excellence. Jacqueline Mukangira, High Commissioner of Rwanda in India, emphasized that peace stems from eliminating violence, prejudice, and discrimination, fostering unity. Other guest speakers included the Head of Chancery, Nigeria High Commission and the Vice-Chancellor, Delhi Teacher University. Maharaj Ji and the guests then released the school magazine, Darshanika 2023, showcasing the students’ creativity.

Two alumni of DA, Delhi shared how the holistic education they received during their formative years helped them in their careers and life by instilling in them the ability to remain calm and peaceful during stressful situations. The seminar was followed by an uplifting musical cultural program “Peaceful Hearts, Peaceful Planet” performed by students of Darshan Academy, Delhi. Weaving together skit with dance, drama and music, the program artfully and creatively depicted our responsibility to preserve and look after our planet for future generations. Through a story revolving around the character of Mother Earth, students showcased how we can share our love and care for all living things. Tapping into our inner resources of joy and peace not only helps us but also our environment. The inspiring celebration concluded with gratitude and a group photograph.
